From 31 Mar to 4 Apr 2023, the Hong Kong Paralympic Committee embarked upon a visit to the city of Hangzhou, China, in preparation for the forthcoming Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games (APG). Mr. Pan Guoxin, Deputy Director of the Executive Office in the Asian Para Games Department extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He stressed that the Hangzhou 2022 APG would be one of the largest Para sports events in Asia and an ideal platform for sports, cultural exchange and mutual learning between regions.
This expedition also entailed visits to various venues of note, including those earmarked for the opening and closing ceremonies, Boccia, badminton, and swimming competitions, whereupon the team was afforded the opportunity to thoroughly explore the facilities, providing the team with an invaluable first-hand information. The entire Hangzhou voyage served as a seminal step in this rigorous preparation process, and the team exudes utmost confidence in their preparatory strides thus far.
