The China Hong Kong Paralympic Committee (HKPC) is dedicated to promoting sports for athletes with disabilities in Hong Kong. It plays a vital role in facilitating participation in the Paralympics and fostering an inclusive sports culture.

To enhance coaching quality and raise public awareness of para sports, HKPC organized the “Foundation Para Sports Coaching Course”. This course equips coaches and other professionals with essential knowledge and skills, supporting the development of an inclusive sports environment and encouraging active participation among athletes with disabilities.

Since August 2022, we have been held periodically, with multiple sessions scheduled throughout the year. As of November 2024, a total of 10 courses have been successfully conducted, with ~1,500 participants enrolled and with ~1,000 participants graduated.

This is not just for aspiring coaches but also for those interested in disability inclusion. Aligned with ESG and CSR principles, it provides insights into disability dynamics and development. With the implementation of HKFRS S1 and S2 disclosure requirements, this course may also help corporations meet their obligations by enhancing their understanding of disability inclusion. Many participants join to integrate this knowledge into their fields, promoting a more inclusive society.
