The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will commence on 28 August. Mrs. Jenny Fung Ma Kit Han, SBS, BBS, JP, President of the China Hong Kong Paralympic Committee along with Dr.
John Leung Lai Yin, Chef de Mission of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games Hong Kong China Delegation and athletes from Archery, Badminton and Swimming, as well as their team and medical officials depart for Paris on 24 August evening for final preparation. They met with the at the Hong Kong International Airport before departure. Mr. Kevin Yeung Yun Hung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ms. Candy Nip Kai Yan, Principal Assistant Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism (Sports & Recreation), were also present to cheer on the athletes and bid them farewell, wishing them success on the upcoming Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Mr. Kevin Yeung Yun Hung sincerely hopes every athlete and the team enjoys the Paralympic Games.
Mr. Kevin Yeung Yun Hung, expressed, “thank you to the 23 athletes and the supporting teams for their hard work and we sincerely hope everyone enjoys the Paralympic Games. Moreover, the Government has acquired the broadcasting rights for the Paralympic Games, to be televised or live-streamed by domestic free television broadcasters. This enables the public to enjoy the exciting competitions and cheer for our athletes.”
Mrs. Jenny Fung Ma Kit Han hopes athletes will perform at their best at the Paralympic Games and return victorious.

Dr. John Leung Lai Yin, Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong China Delegation revealed Chan Ho Yuen (Badminton) and Wong Ting Ting (Table Tennis) will serve as the Delegation’s flag bearers at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. “Chan Ho Yuen and Wong Ting Ting have achieved remarkable success in the previous Paralympic Games and recent international competitions, showcasing the boundless potential of Hong Kong athletes. They will proudly carry the Hong Kong flag high at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games opening ceremony, displaying the elegance of Hong Kong to the world.”
Chan Ho Yuen expressed his honour at being chosen as a flag bearer for the Paralympic Games and hopes to raise awareness for disabled athletes.
Chan Ho Yuen, bronze medallist in Badminton, and Wong Ting Ting, bronze medallist in Table Tennis at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, are selected as the Delegation’s flag bearers at the opening ceremonyof the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Chan Ho Yuen said, “on behalf of all Hong Kong athletes competing at the Games, I promise we will do our best, hoping to bring the most exciting games and wonderful memories to the citizens. Beyond the competition, we hope the public will pay attention to our stories, aseach one reflects a journey of overcoming fallbacks, turning failures into success and transforming ordinary into inspiring tales from Hong Kong.”
The Hong Kong China Delegation confirmed the participation of 23 athletes across 8 sports, including Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boccia, Equestrian, Swimming, Table Tennis and Wheelchair Fencing. Among the highly experienced athletes, five will be making their debut at the Paralympic Games, highlighting the formidable strength of the team.
