外展計劃 Outreach Programme

Introduction

China Hong Kong Paralympic Committee (HKPC) aims at providing trainings of varies new and developing Para sports to our target groups, the establishment of the HKPC Outreach Programme will be outsourced and hosted by the other single and multi-sports organizations.

The target groups will be ALL kinds of disabilities and special needs service users, not limited to any particular groups as the vision and mission of HKPC is ALL inclusive. HKPC will work on linking up between coaches and sports organizations, especially varies newly emerged sports for the disabled population, to have them exposed to sports and engaged with the habit of exercising.  It is believed that daily exercise could keep one’s healthy so as to minimize the workload of medical expenses of HKSAR in the long run. Through the Outreach Programme, HKPC is targeting different hostels, special schools for disabilities and day care activity centres, to reach out to population with different types of impairment in the community.

HKPC will actively collaborate with different organisations and special schools to help identify potential athletes in the community and encourage them to participate in systematic and long–term para sports training, so as to further develop into elite athletes.
